The location will be the Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Coralville, Iowa, July 10 thru July 12, 2009. (Note: The Marriott is a smoke free facility).
Directions: Interstate 80, Exit 242, South on 1st Avenue, left on E. 9th Street (easily seen from interstate)

Hotel Reservations: The host hotel is the Coralville Marriott. Our guaranteed rate of $92/night + tax (includes $8/day parking fee) is for July 8 thru July 12, 2009. Reservations can be made after July 10, 2008, on-line (Event Web Page) or by phone (319-688-4026). The rate will be honored until June 24, 2009. (After that date, the block of rooms we have reserved will be released and the convention rate may not be available.) Notes on making reservations from the Event Web Page:

Camping: The Edgewater Campground is just East of the Marriott. At this time the fee is $13 per night. There are 15 sites. They have electricity, water & showers, but no dump site. They do not take reservations. 319-248-1750
Hall: The convention hall is approximately 30,000 square feet with a layout of 132 sales tables and 29 displays. (room to expand, if needed) Food will be available in the hall and in the hotel restaurant.
Security: The Marriott provides area security at all times. Security in the hall will be provided by the show hosts and members of MVIC from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon.
Admission Fee: $3 — 3 day admission (children under 12 free)
Dealer Tables: All dealer tables are 2 ˝’ x 8’ with white table covers provided. Hand carts and flat bed carts will be available for use.

Threadless
Threaded Glass
Threaded Porcelain
Specialty — one company, one style, patents, errors, etc.
Color — glass, porcelain, or any combination
Foreign — glass, porcelain, or any combination
Lightning Rod Equipment — insulators, balls, vanes, etc.
Junior — must be under the age of 18 at the time of the show and not receive excessive adult assistance
General — displays of mixed insulators, the total theme of which does not accurately fit any other single category listing
Go-Withs — must include some use of insulators and/or related items, but may include any other items that complete the theme of the display
Non-Competitive — open to insulators or related items
Awards Banquet: Choice of Iowa Pork Chop (served with maple glaze) or Chicken Forestiere (breast of chicken with forest mushroom sauce). Served with: assortment of breads, rolls, & gourmet breads, fresh garden greens with pepper cream & red wine dressings, chef’s choice of potato, bouquetiere of fresh vegetables, chef’s choice of dessert, coffee & tea. Children’s menu: (ages 5-12, under 5 complimentary) Chicken tenders (deep fried breaded strips of chicken served with honey mustard & barbecue sauce), french fries, choice of fruit cup or salad, dessert, soft drink or juice.

Refund Cut-off Date: JUNE 9, 2009—Cancellations past this date will be considered on an individual basis.
CYI Raffle: Many donated items will be raffled at various times during the show. The price for the chances to CYI (choose your item) will be very reasonable. Hint: you might want to bring return address labels so that you won’t have to write your name so many times.
