Doug Rusher Biography

I stared collecting when I was 10 years old right after my father passed away, My Mom had some good friends who just happened to be Frank and Margaret Miller who got me started collecting, and yes that's the Frank Miller who started the NIA Commemorative. after that we moved to Wyoming where I kept collecting and in my High School years started hunting the UPRR and the Transcontinental Telegraph route. I remember the first time I found my first threadless, a beautiful aqua Mulford and Biddle and I was there about every weekend after that, we traveled a lot to Montana to visit my Brother and we would hit about every antique store along the way and seek out collectors, one year I heard about a character who had just started college and lived in Helena by the name of Ron Yuhas who collected insulators so my mom and I decided to try to track him down, and for over fourty years we have been the BEST of friends, I have down sized my collection by quite a bit and now enjoy writing articles and do research to try to save the History for the future of the Hobby.
