This style is known as "egg" insulator due to its shape.  A number of these were found in a relic dig in Richmond Virginia of a Confederate Storage Depot in 1990.  Richmond was the capitol of the Confederate States and the depot was torched to avoid the contents falling into Union hands in April, 1865.
