Porcelain Wire Separators or Arial Spacers 

Trying to reduce urban wiring density, heavy insulated cables separated by these porcelain insulators provided a very compact three phase distribution.  These can also be found in plastic and sometimes glass.

Here is a gray glazed large wire separator.  The top would hand from a steel cable, and each of the three phases using heavy insulated cables mount on the three arms.

Here is a different version that is of a much lighter construction and in a greenish glaze.

Here is a much smaller spacer most likely for cables in a tunnel or other very tight space.
