Kawaso Texcel was founded in 1877 in Seto City, Aichi Japan making china tableware. The name was derived from the founder Kawamoto Sokichi. In 1916 the company started making porcelain insulators . In 1957 the corporate name was changed to Kawaso Material Industrial Co. and the headquarters moved to Osaka. In 1988 the name was changed to Kawaso tecxel co., Ltd. and they are still active making insulators along with other electrical porcelain.
