Merklinska Porcelanska : Czechoslovakia

Merklin, Czechoslovakia

Merklin Porcelain dates back to 1880 but insulator manufacturing did not start until 1913 when the production of low-voltage insulators was introduced. The factory began to specialize in the production of insulators for both low and high voltages, and later on mainly for the production of sheath insulators for VHF. In 1958, Merklín, merged with four other factories to become Elektroporcelán Louny.
