Although this style has a top groove it is included hear as it matches other similar styles with no top groove.  This insulator is not threaded, but has a recess in the pinhole for a locking mechanism patented June 25, 1901 by Harry Ethridge of McKeesport, PA (US Patent 676,881).   This example is unmarked but attributed to Thomas.
