The National Insulator Association is now a 501c3 Charitable Organization!
The NIA received a letter from the IRS today indicating that we have been approved to be a 501c3 Charitable Organization. The letter says that our effective date is October 16, 2009 (the date of our application). So starting from October 16th 2009, any contributions to the NIA are tax deductible (in the form of donations, not dues or product sales). Furthermore, we have been classified as a public charity under the code which is better than others classified as Foundations.
Thanks are due to First Past President Kevin Jacobson for guiding this application through. This process has gotten extremely difficult and Kevin was able to take the lead on this effort and had to work through a number of challenges to get it closed.
