CD 176 Whitall Tatum Insulator

This very unusual insulator was made to a Bell Telephone Laboratories patent for a low loss insulator.  The patent required a wire groove diameter significantly larger than the pin as well as a long leakage path from the wire to the pin.  These were used on an A.T.& T. test line as written up in the Bell Telephone Record and are quite rare today.
