UNITED   STATES   PATENT   OFFICE

JAMES M. BROOKFIELD, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

DESIGN FOR A TELEGRAPH-INSULATOR.

Specification forming part of Design No. 10,981, dated January 14, 1879; application filed December 13, 1878.

[Term of patent 14 years]

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES M. BROOKFIELD, of  Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have originated and designed a Pattern for Telegraph-Insulators, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification.

The drawing is a side view of my insulator.

This design consists in the combination of a frustum-shaped shaft, a semicircular bead projecting beyond the upper or thinnest end of said shaft, a semicircular groove, and a hemispherical top, whereby a novel and ornamental appearance is imparted to my insulator.

In the drawing, the letter A designates my telegraph-insulator, which is formed with a shaft, a, of the form of a truncated cone or frustum, a semicircular bead, b, projecting beyond

the surface of the upper or smallest end of said shaft, a semicircular groove, c, forming a hollow member, whereby the bead b is connected to the hemispherical top d.  By these means a telegraph- insulator is obtained which has a novel and ornamental appearance.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is --

The design for a telegraph- insulator, composed of a frustum shaped shaft, a, a semicircular bead, b, a hollow member, c, and a hemispherical top, d, all as shown and described.

In testimony that I claim and the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11th day of December, 1878.
