2018 NIA Hall of Fame Inductee

 Frances Terrill

Frances was the first columnist and editor of the Insulator Bylines column in Old Bottle Magazine, otherwise known as OBX (Old Bottle Exchange) for six years from June 1968 to June 1974. She served as the information clearinghouse for early collectors hungry for information and provided much of the charm and personality of the hobby’s early days. Writing for a bottle magazine, she introduced a whole generation of bottle collectors to insulator collecting. She contributed to the close association between insulator collecting and bottle collecting and this may not have happened without her enthusiastic efforts. She also authored six hobby books in the early 1970’s:

In both "Insulator By-lines" and her books she included many drawings and even some insulator related poetry. She published letters that included many early finds in the infancy of the hobby that likely contributed to it's rapid growth. There are some reports to this day that have not been "re-discovered" including a white milk glass McLaughlin No. 20, a Brookfield embossed CD 110 and a peacock blue CD 145 H.G.Co. beehive!
