ACEC (SA Ateliers de Constructions Electriques de Charleroi) manufactured electrical generation, transmission, transport, lighting and industrial equipment. ACEC was founded July 7,1904 after being acquired from the Société anonyme Électricité et Hydraulique à Charleroi (E&H), by Baron Edouard Empain as an entry into the electrical industry in an attempt to counter German companies' share of the Belgian market. E & H was originally founded in 1896 producing large dynamos. Insulators have been found with their logo, but it is not confirmed if they ever made porcelain themselves.
